I had Scherzer on my fantasy team in 2008 and 2009, he never quite lived up to the enormous hype but I think the kid is due for a breakout season.

Today I folded up my wife's Granderson jersey to get it out of our closet and out of sight for a little while. When I purchased it before the 2007 season I assured her that his name would be safe on a Tiger Jersey for a long time, maybe throughout his career. At this point bitter feelings outweigh logic and reason. Perhaps this move will help the team, but right now it feels like Curtis was the latest victim of bad investments and free spending. The Tigers need to save money, really? I never thought that was an issue when I ventured into a very crowded ballpark several times this fall. Is it the economy or the millions of dollars paid out to bench warmers and guys not even on the team? Time could reveal this to be a great move, but right now we are already missing Curtis. This one stings.
