Three Tigers All-Stars + Maybe One More
July 5th, 2009 | by jelletlambie |Justin Verlander, Edwin Jackson and Curtis Granderson were named to the American League All-Star team this afternoon. Verlander and Jackson were selected by AL Manager Joe Maddon while Curtis Granderson was selected by the players.
Miguel Cabrera was the notable snub from the Tigers this year. Perhaps he’ll be invited to the Home Run Derby, although I have to wonder if he would accept.
Brandon Inge still has a chance to make the squad, he is one of five AL players you can choose from to fill out the AL roster. His competition is steep, with Ian Kinsler of the Rangers, Carlos Pena of the Rays, Chone Figgins of the Angels and Adam Lind of the Blue Jays.
