Around the Tigers Blogosphere 7/3/09
July 3rd, 2009 | by jelletlambie |Before you get all caught up in your fireworks and hot dogs and pool parties and watching your Aunt Martha get whacked out on one too many long island iced teas – take a moment to check out what the rest of the Tigers blogosphere is talking about. Here’s what I’ve been reading today, enjoy.
Lee at Tiger Tales has a detailed breakdown of the Tigers and Twins using some pretty interesting statistics.
Blake at The Spot Starters looks ahead to next season and the Tigers second base situation in 2010. He points out some internal and external options going forward, a good read.
Big JP at Always A Tiger Sang another song for releasingĀ Magglio Ordonez. His logic is valid andĀ his words are carefully chosen. It’s a great read.
Ian at Bless You Boys breaks down the B.S. Podcast where Bill Simmons and Keith Law talk Tigers. At least the national press is paying attention.
Kurt at Mack Avenue Tigers rethinks the Tigers bullpen – I guess we have more to be thankful for than we think sometimes. Leave it to Kurt to properly draw perspective, another winning story.
Billfer at The Detroit Tigers Weblog tells us that this series with the Twins may not be as important as we think. I have my own thoughts on the subject, which I’ll share later.
Bill Dow at the Detroit Athletic Company interviews Jim Northrup. Any time the “Silver Fox” is talking Tigers, I’m listening.
Bob from Detroit 4 Lyfe took part in a roundtable on athletes who have passed their prime, to say it politely, over at FanSided. His part in the discussion – Magglio needs to retire. The “Singlio” nick name makes me sad, but it also makes me giggle.
Nicholas Huenefeld at The Toledo Free Press profiles Clete Thomas and his connection to his namesake Clete Boyer. To all you cougars and members of Clete’s Cult, don’t say I never gave you nothin.
Enjoy kiddies, I’ll be back later with more.
