Around the Tigers Blogosphere

June 30th, 2009 | by jelletlambie |

Stories and posts I found interesting in the Tigers blogosphere lately….Enjoy

If you have yet to see new Tigers reliever Fu-Te Ni pitch, Kurt from Mack Avenue Tigers has a video clip just for you. The music may be reminiscent of that rave you went to that one time in college, but the video is solid and gives you a good idea of his motion and delivery.

If you haven’t seen the Magglio Milk Carton mock-up yet you need to head over to Bless You Boys and check it out, HIGH-larious.

Jennifer from Old English D put together a rundown on which ‘84 Tigers we may or may not see at the 9/28 game celebrating the 25th anniversary of the World Championship club.

Big JP from Always A Tiger profiled Tigers Hall of Famer Charlie Gehringer for his Tigers by the numbers series. It’s a good read with good info for those not familiar with the legendary second baseman.

Samara from Roar of the Tigers talks Brandon Inge and his Magic Bat, complete with a very cool photo illustration of her own doing. Artsy yet not pretentious, my favorite.

Scott from Motor City Sports put together a very detailed rundown of 4th and 5th starters across MLB and how the Tigers options stack up.

Billfer from The Detroit Tigers Weblog posted another installment of his minor league wrap, I never miss it, neither should you.

John from Tiger Geist was in attendance last night in Oakland. He chronicled his night in first row seats by the Tigers bullpen for all of us to envy.

Lee from Tiger Tales posted a stat link showing just how effective Fernando Rodney has been in increasing the probability of a Tigers win, interesting stuff for the stat geek in all of us.

Finally, I’ll be taking part in a roundtable discussion tonight on the Tigers efforts so far in the first half. You can catch the live feed here at 7 PM tonight, audio only, I’ll post the link to the podcast once it is available. Joining me will be Ian from Bless You Boys, John from Tiger Geist and Greg from Where Have You Gone Johnny Grubb?

Finally, I’m going to ask for your help with something. Don’t worry, this has nothing to do with nigerian money laundering, this is more fun that that. I want to start a photo gallery here on the site, a place where readers can submit photos they’ve taken over the years or photos taken of them, Detroit Tigers related of course. Vintage and retro preferred but modern versions gladly accepted. Here’s your chance to show off that shot of you and your favorite Tiger from photo day, or that picture of you with the face paint and the foam finger when you were nine. Send them over to me at jelletlambie@gmail.com and I’ll get the page started. Please include a sentence or two in your email about the photo if you would be so kind.
